I finally had our jumping picture from Paris printed onto canvas. Its new home is above Martha’s Eiffel Tower collection on the ledge in the landing to the basement. I wish all of the kids were in the picture, but Sam was there with a school tour the year before we were. And Meredith is getting her chance to go with me this Easter break. I’m sure we’ll get another jumping picture when we’re there.
Here are some photos of the stairs. The frames and hand rails are metal and the stairs themselves are a cement compound (twice the strength, half the weight). I love them. Thank you, Michael!
The light in the stairwell is made of string – kind of like paper mache – only with string. I used to make something similar, only smaller, with my Grade 1 students some time ago! They were supposed to be snowballs…
