My name is Paula (Hadwen) Shareski. I was born and raised in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada – one of the best little cities anywhere -where I live to this day with my wonderful family! Like everyone else these days, I lead a busy life. Fortunately it’s mostly filled with things I love – like family, friends, books, teaching, stitching, quilting, designing, decorating, travelling…And I still love Christmas just as much as I did when I was four!

Because I love school SOOO much, I decided to become a teacher! And because I love reading SOOO much, I eventually became a teacher-librarian (and IT teacher). That’s my day life. But I still needed a creative outlet. That’s where the designing and quilting comes in.

My husband, Dean, and I will have been married for almost 26 years. (We got married when I was 19 and he, 20, so you can do the math.) We have four awesome kids: Meredith (23), Sam (20), Shea (17) and Martha (11).

Meredith completed her 4-year music degree at Humber College in Toronto last year. She will graduate with her education degree from York University in Toronto this spring. Sam took a year and a half of Engineering at the U of Saskatchewan and is transferring to the U of Toronto this fall. Shea is in Grade 12. She hopes to become a doctor and is entering the College of Science at Dalhousie University in Halifax this coming fall. Martha is in Grade 6. She loves to write stories and draw. Her latest career ambition is wedding planner.
We also have Charlotte the Shar Pei. She is a very sweet dog and we enjoy her very much!

We live in a big old brick house, built in 1912, that we have renovated over the past twelve years. We will be moving out in June or July, into the new home that we’re currently building!
I have great friends – many of whom also love to quilt, entertain and decorate. We get together as much as possible. This is some of us celebrating the June birthdays last year.

The summer of 2002 I got the crazy idea to start my own pattern design company and “Bobby Socks Quilt Company” was born.I don’t have nearly the time I’d like to devote to it, but all in good time.I give it what time I can and have really enjoyed designing patterns over the past few years. It has been a pleasure to receive email from quilters all over the world. Thanks for writing!
