2011 Free Redwork Series

The new 2011-12 free redwork pattern series is called “Away We Go”.  It will not be a monthly pattern this time.  I haven’t decided how many blocks it will be yet – kind of playing it by ear.  Anyway, hope you’ll enjoy this series!

can you please make “blog labels” to the posts in this series :)

love to share the link to your work – so many people like your redwork

I’m not exactly sure what you mean by blog labels, but I added a “2011 Free Redwork Series” category. Is that what you meant?

Paula, thanks! It’s good to see you creating again – you’ve had a busy couple of years.
I think what Diane meant was a button she could put on her blog (and others could, too)

I don’t know how to do them, but there must be info out there.
    All the best,

I LOVE your Away We Go pattern, especially the drive-in Movie. There is a place near Flint, Michigan that still has a drive-in that is operational. On a recent road trip from Michigan to Virginia to see my dad, we passed 3 drive-in’s that were still in operation. One was next to a McDonald’s that was in the original “golden arches” building with the running hamburger man. The building had not changed from when it opened in the 50′s/60′s as they felt it was a part of history.
I can’t wait to see what you come up with next. You do wonderful work and really help keep my creative juices flowing.
    Thanks a million!

That’s very cool! We’ve actually been to Michigan many times – had friends living there for a while. I’m pretty sure we’ve been to Flint. We’ve also happened upon a couple of “retro” McDonald’s in our travels – they are always fun to find! Our original McD’s was torn down about five years ago and replace with one that looks like a giant barn!

I have not been able to find any new patterns since August.
Are you not printing any more?

  20. Comment by Elizabeth on December 4, 2011 7:16 pm

I love these patterns they bring back so many good memories. Will there be any more? I keep checking back and have not found any in a long time. I know hat all of us get busy but I hope that there will be more coming soon in this series. Four is a bit small even for a throw. Waiting with antisipation.

  21. Comment by paula on January 15, 2012 5:15 pm

Yes, there are more coming. Thanks for your patience!

Its great to hear that more are coming. When I started this project I cut out 12 squares of fabric so that I would have enough for a quilt. I realise that you were not sure if there were going to be that many but when you start a project the worst thing is not to be able to finish it the way you like because you do not have enough of that one fabric. Waiting for the next memory to be brought forth in needlework.

  24. Comment by paula on January 29, 2012 4:38 pm

The same thing happened in our city. Ours is a big barn/silo too!

  25. Comment by Elizabeth on May 6, 2012 7:12 am

Still waiting for your next great artistic creation that we can transfer into needlework.

this is so cool. I live in Muskegon, MI and we have a drive-in movie. We are right on Lake Michigan so come visit you can see a movie and the beach.

Got these done and awaiting more. There’s no drive where I’m at right now, but previous house (son is living there now) has drive-in about 2 blocks away–used dto love taking the kids to the movies (with my soda and cancy/popcorn) for ‘car load’ prices! Wish there was one here…..Saw some great movies there!

I just found your site. It was on another redwork site that referenced your alphabet. I have not been able to locate it on your blog. Thanks!

I keep checking back to make sure that I have not missed the next block but I have not seen you add on for what seems like the longest time. I hope that it will be coming soon.
